Size

6 - 12 months (42 cm length & 35 cm width).

Gauge

17 stitches dc = 4” (10 cm); 10 rows dc = 4” (10 cm). CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

Materials

♥ Yarn: 2 balls of 50 grams in each color (A&B) and small amount of yarn in C.
A: Blush Pink,
B: Seafoam Blue,
C: Pure Black.
♥ Crochet Hook: 3.5 mm,
♥ Scissors.

Special Stitches

dc2tog (double crochet 2 together) = [Yarn over, insert hook in indicated stitch or space and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook] twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.
dc3tog (double crochet 3 together) = [Yarn over, insert hook in indicated stitch or space and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook] 3 times, yarn over and draw through all 4 loops on hook.

Notes

1. The dress is crocheted through both loops in two sections: Skirt and Bodice. The bodice is worked up down in three pieces, leaving an opening at the top, with a simple edge. The skirt is worked left to right for the border and down up for the rest.
2. The two braces are worked separately.
3. Hello Kitty face elements are worked separately.

Bodice

With A, ch 52.
Row 1: ch 3, dc in fourth ch from hook and in next 8 ch, ch 2 (first corner made), dc in next 8 ch, ch 2 (second corner made), dc in next 18 ch, ch 2 (third corner made), dc in next 8 ch, ch 2 (fourth corner made), dc in next 9 ch.
Row 2: ch 3, turn, [dc in each st to ch-2 space, (dc 2, ch 2, dc 2) in ch-2 space] 3 times, dc in each st to end of row.
Rows 3–6: repeat Row 2 for 3 more times.
So a collar is made and you are ready to work across the long edge of this collar.

Back collar (from first corner to fourth corner)

Join A with slip st in first st next to the ch-2 space of first corner.
Row 7: ch 3, turn, dc in each st to ch-2 space of the fourth corner.
Row 8: ch 3, turn,dc3tog in the first 3 st, dc in each next st to the fourth st from end of row, dc3tog in the 3 remaining st.
Rows 9-11: ch 3, turn, dc in each st to end of row.

Sleeve Edging

Note: Edging is worked in continuous rounds. Flatten dress so you can determine the center stitch of the underarm. You may want to place a stitch marker on this stitch.
Round 1: join A with slip st in st at back of sleeve, *ch 3, skip 2 st, sc in each two next st; repeat from * to the corner, **ch 3, skip 1 st, [sc2tog over two next st] 2 times; repeat from ** to the next corner, ***ch 3, skip 2 st, sc in each two next st; repeat from *** to the end of round, slip st to join.

Skirt

With B, ch 3.

Whiskers

With C, ch 6 (make 4 whiskers).
With C, ch 5 (make 2 for whiskers in the middle).

Second eye

With C, ch 4.
Row 1: ch 1, turn, sc in 2nd ch from hook, [ch 2, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch] 3 times.

FINISHING


Attach Back & Front collar: with A, slip st 15 back sts to 15 front sts,
Attach Bodies & Skirt: Flatten Bodies and Skirt so you can determine the center stitches of two sides of the dress. You may want to place a stitch marker on this stitch. Join with B and slip st.
Attach Braces & Skirt: Join with B and slip st.
Attach Bow & Braces: wrap the yarn around the middle about 5 times to form a bow. Then, attach it to brace with B in her appropriate position.
Attach Hello Kitty face elements: place the elements in their appropriate positions and join with C and slip st. Weave in ends. Block if necessary.
